Am I Who I'm Truly am?

I've been talking to my friends lately. And I just realise that I was actually afraid to get into this relationship stuff. As more I think about it, the scar from the past are showing up. And somehow I am afraid that I might end up in the same situation again. Where I will be abandon and be alone where nobody will understand me because of the mask I am wearing. I am not seeking for pities. All I want was to understand who I truly am.

There is a commitment needed to make in order to have a relationship. Either you need to make sacrifices or keep on with the habits of yours and let the relationship break. I admit that I have been in a lot of relationship before. But somehow the relation doesn't last long. It is because I can't commit into those relationship. You might say that I am young but after the history in my family I somehow tend to heal myself and keep on walking. It needs tons of courage. Who would want to find that one day when they wake up and their parents wasn't there and all left was the blurry memories.

Particularly, I was always in a relationship but there is no real feeling pour into it. It was like a car without gas. No matter how long you've waited it won't move on. That is how I was. I can't move on from the past. Somehow I did seek the professional advice, it helps for a while but somehow it wasn't for a life time. Every time I ended the relationship it would just leave a new impression on how does this thing work and how awful was it. But to be truth I was just too afraid to left go on something that are important to me. As love will someday fade away.

Yeah right. All those people who know me or knew me, they know/knew me as a happy-go-lucky girl with no problems. Someone who laugh all day long. It was like fear of getting rejected in an interview but we still go on with it. Being with others might make me feel like I was somehow needed and someone who can just trust this relationship at least once. But I realise that I can't. Who would think of the scar, the pain while be with someone that you're dating with?

I want to wear a smile which came from my heart. But I just don't want to be trapped in the world which was created by other. I wanted to break-free. I want to live my dreams. I don't care if I am broke, uneducated or jobless. But I want to be able to get out from my comfort zone and move on and leave the past behind.

I seek growth daily to grow hearts. I understand if I don't grow, learn new skill, make new friends, I stay in my old self which I do not want. Only opening my heart then I could see a bigger world. Learn more skill & make more great friends and touch more hearts and inspire some to make dreams come true.
-Joshua Lim
He said that we are not always the same person but we need to open up our heart and accept changes and to be changed.

I am a dreamer. I can't tell lies about what I want to be the most. I want to be someone who can walk off the past and someone who can smile freely as there is no more tomorrow. I want to help those who are facing the same problem as mine. I want to be able to change myself and be someone who can get into others life and make their life better. And I've waken up from the life I've been in right now. By someone who inspired me, someone who understand people like us, Dreamer!

I tend to think that that was just a dream since dream are created from our imagination where there is no limit. But he inspired me. He make me believe that there is a future for dreamer. He makes me want to give upon my current life which was terribly messed up. You might say that I was living a good life. But what was a good life where you don't actually enjoy being in it but feel pressure and stressed about it.

I've think about it these days about what I really want and who I truly wanted to be. There is no parents that want their child to be a lay-back. But somehow my heart want me to follow what my dream want. I don't want to just study and later find a job and sitting in a office whole day-long and went back home. Keep on repeating the cycle somehow wasn't who I am. I want to live a free-spirit life.

I am a skin disease patient somehow it does affect my life, how people look on me. But I don't care more. Because I realise that there are other people in this world who facing another problem which is more complicated than mine. And I will keep on a smile while other asking me about it because I believe that was a gift from GOD. And I am grateful that GOD has been with me all this time as well as keep on having me even though I was once lost.

I believe in GOD. And I will do what my heart told me because I believe GOD will plan my future for me. Amen.

I dare to DREAM and I dare to MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Credit to Joshua Lim for inspiring me.

[Lyrics] 偷偷的爱 - 丁当&严爵 (Totally Love by Ding Dang and Yan Jue)

(rap)

In Time With You Episode 1

[Lyrics] Wing - Ariel Lin (翅膀 - 林依晨)

Translation

Can you hear my voice?

You keep on asking me, "What is the purpose of your life?"
The answer that came from me is always the same. "I am happy as long I can make others smile."
You might laugh at my dream. But my dream are here to be make happen.

I love the things that I am working on it and I enjoy it. You might said this is childish but this is the life that I wanted. A life without any pressure and continue to living it with smile.

Friends, will you support me? Even the road that I choose isn't a safe journey?

Faith

Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son ?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor: So, you believe in GOD ?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD good ?
Student : Sure.
Professor: Is GOD all powerful ?
Student : Yes.
Professor: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent.)

Professor: You can’t answer, can you ? Let’s start again, young fella. Is GOD good?
Student : Yes.
Professor: Is Satan good ?
Student : No.
Professor: Where does Satan come from ?
Student : From … GOD …
Professor: That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student : Yes.
Professor: Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
Student : Yes.
Professor: So who created evil ?

(Student did not answer.)

Professor: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don’t they?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor: So, who created them ?

(Student had no answer.)

Professor: Science says you have 5 Senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son, have you ever seen GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor: Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?
Student : No , sir.
Professor: Have you ever felt your GOD, tasted your GOD, smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any sensory perception of GOD for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven’t.
Professor: Yet you still believe in Him?
Student : Yes.
Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my faith.
Professor: Yes, faith. And that is the problem Science has.
Student : Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
Professor: Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as cold?
Professor: Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn't.

(The lecture theatre became very quiet with this turn of events.)

Student : Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.

(There was pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)

Student : What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
Professor: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness?

Student : You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light. But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and its called darkness, isn't it? In reality, darkness isn't  If it is, well you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?
Professor: So what is the point you are making, young man ?
Student : Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Professor: Flawed ? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good GOD and a bad GOD. You are viewing the concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can’t even explain a thought. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.
Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?
Professor: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument was going.)

Student : Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavour  Are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher?

(The class was in uproar.)

Student : Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain?

(The class broke out into laughter. )

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable.)

Professor: I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son.
Student : That is it sir … Exactly ! The link between man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that keeps things alive and moving.

P.S.

I believe you have enjoyed the conversation. And if so, you’ll probably want your friends / colleagues to enjoy the same, won’t you?

Forward this to increase their knowledge … or FAITH.

By the way, that student was EINSTEIN.

What is the differences between hope and expectation?

Vulgar right? Well to some maybe. But let’s look beyond the word shit, and put anything tangible in its place.

I understand the importance of wishing when you believe you don’t have any control of your life. You can sit around all day, every day hoping and praying for a job, dreaming of the day someone will walk up to you and offer you a job. Wouldn't that be nice, but I can almost bet, it will never happen because hope and wishes are born from the belief that there is a possibility it won’t happen.

There is a difference between Expectation and Hope—a BIG difference. When one hopes for something they believe there is a chance it won’t come to be; while when one expects, there is only the belief that it is done.

Hey I know this is gritty but it is time I got a little gritty. Look at it this way, when you go to take a bath, or turn on the sink do you hope the water will turn on; or do you expect it to flow? We don’t go around flicking on light-switches with the hope they’ll work. We know they work. That is the difference between hopes and expectations.

Now if we can expect light-switches to work, water to run, and gravity to hold us to the earth, why can’t we expect peace in our world, prosperity to flow in our lives and health to be our normal every day? Just because we can’t see it, doesn’t mean we can’t expect it. When we fill our hands with expectations instead of hope we watch them overflow with possibilities of greatness and the opportunities of demonstrating everything we desire. But we mustn’t hope, we must know.

We would never look at a child with a dream of becoming a dancer and tell them to stop dreaming. So let’s not confuse the ideas of dreams with hopes. They are two different thoughts. Dreams ignite the spark of thoughts that produce expectations. Hope gives us an escape route. There is nothing more powerful than a made up mind.

Look back at examples in your life where you expected success in your life. Then think back at the times you hoped for something to happen. Let’s face it we really don’t need the naysayers in the world to cut us off at the knees; because the doubting voices in the back of our heads seem to be doing a bang up job.

You want your life to be different? Start coming from expectations instead of hope. Want to have a baby, go out buy the car seat and put it in your car. You want to be a writer, write that book and learn how to become published. Want to lose that weight, walk everyday and expect results. You gotta know you deserve it. Know it is your right—expect it to be so and don’t let any thoughts derail your intentions.

It isn't miracles that are happening while you’re hoping for change; it’s your demonstrations showing up because you expected them to.

Cholesterol

We should avoid cholesterol if we want to be healthy and avoid heart disease, right? Not necessarily. You see, concerning the cholesterol and heart disease, there are thousands of HEALTHY 80+ year old folks with cholesterol levels in the 200’s!

There are many “myths” associated with cholesterol, including:
• High-fat foods and cholesterol cause atherosclerosis leading to the obstruction of blood vessels in the heart
• Lowering your cholesterol will lengthen your life
• Polyunsatured oils are good for your health
• All scientists and doctors support the idea that high cholesterol causes heart disease
• Statin drugs are essential in controlling cholesterol levels and preventing heart disease

Believing all of these cholesterol myths, Americans decreased their intake of good fats and oils (like coconut oil, fish oil, olive oil) and started consuming more vegetable oils and margarine (a trans fat). This diet has CAUSED thousands of deaths from heart disease, as have the statin drugs which supposedly prevent heart disease, but in reality have numerous deleterious effects.

Statins are “HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors”, that is, they act by blocking the enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) in your liver that is responsible for making cholesterol. There are over 900 studies proving the adverse effects of statin drugs, including anemia, cancer, chronic fatigue, acidosis, liver dysfunction, thyroid disruption, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and even diabetes! Statins have been shown to increase your risk of diabetes through a few different mechanisms. The most important one is that they increase insulin resistance, which contributes to chronic inflammation (the common element of most diseases) and actually *RESULTS* in heart disease, which, ironically, is the primary reason for taking a cholesterol-reducing drug in the first place!

Perhaps most importantly, cholesterol is *NOT* the cause of heart disease. Your body NEEDS cholesterol. What Is Cholesterol? Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance that’s found in all the cells of our body. It has a hormone-like structure that behaves like a fat in that it is insoluble in water and in blood. Cholesterol travels through your bloodstream in small packages called “lipoproteins” which are made of lipids (fats) on the inside and proteins on the outside.
Cholesterol plays a critical role in body chemistry. It is ESSENTIAL to our health. When we lower cholesterol, we actually CREATE sickness and disease!

Every cell of the body needs cholesterol to maintain the integrity of its cell membrane. Cholesterol makes the cell membrane more rigid but prevents it from crystallizing. Cholesterol is needed for the liver to make bile; it is the precursor for steroidal hormones (estrogen and testosterone), and in the presence of sunlight, the body can use the photolytic action of UV light on the cholesterol in the skin cells to make Vitamin D, which is essential for our immune system and also maintains the balance of calcium and phosphorus for strong bones and teeth.

Perhaps most importantly, cholesterol is an essential component in the machinery that triggers the release of neurotransmitters in the brain. Mother’s milk is especially rich in cholesterol and contains a special enzyme that helps the baby utilize it. Babies and children need cholesterol-rich foods throughout their growing years to ensure proper development of the brain and nervous system. Cholesterol is very concentrated in the brain, where it contributes to the functioning of “synapses” (tiny gaps between cells which allow nerves to communicate with each other). There is also strong evidence that having too little cholesterol INCREASES your risk for cancer, memory loss, Parkinson's disease, hormonal imbalances, stroke, depression, suicide, and violent behavior.

According to recent research at Harvard, the primary causes of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries which leads to heart disease) are lesions and plaque in the arteries caused by SUGAR which causes insulin to be released. Insulin causes lesions in the endothelium of the arteries that become clogged with cholesterol. So, cholesterol gets the blame, but the real culprit is sugar. So, if you avoid sugar and simple carbs, cholesterol is not an issue.

Cherries Benefits

Did you know that 20% of Americans have arthritis? A natural remedy for joint pain like arthritis is tart cherries. Like all dark-skinned fruits, cherries are high in antioxidants and other phytochemicals that promote human health in numerous ways.

While sweet cherries may be more fun to eat, the most potent inflammation-fighting cherries are the tart variety. “Anthocyanins” (the phytochemicals which give cherries their vibrant red color) have powerful anti-inflammatory properties since they shut down the enzymes that cause tissue inflammation and pain. (Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, Sept.-Oct. 2006).

In a recent study, University of Michigan researchers found that giving whole tart cherries to lab rats reduced two common markers of blood vessel inflammation by up to 50%. This not only helps reduce the pain associated with arthritis but also lowers the risk of type-2 diabetes and heart dis
ease. Studies also suggest antioxidant-rich foods (like cherries) may help reduce levels of nitric oxide, a compound associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Cherries have a unique antioxidant profile that works similar to some types of pain medication.

Cherries are also one of the only natural sources of melatonin, a potent antioxidant which helps regulate the immune system and prevents cancer. And if that’s not enough reasons to have a bowl of cherries, they are also well known to help reverse gout (a condition caused by too much uric acid circulating in the blood), reduce body fat, and lower cholesterol.

According to these recent studies, perhaps the old saying, “life is like a bowl of cherries” should be changed to “a healthy life depends upon a bowl of cherries.”

Top 10 GMO Foods to Avoid

1. Zucchini: It goes without saying that many biotech companies say genetically modified foods are safe for you, but as GMO science expands, reseachers are finding more evidence that such foo
ds can harm your health. One of those is zucchini. While not as potentially harmful as other GM foods, zucchini is nonetheless “engineered” to resist some strains of virus.

2. Cotton: Considered a food item because its oil can be consumed, cotton – in particular, genetically modified Bt cotton, common to India and China – has damaging consequences. According to recent Chinese research, while Bt cotton is capable of killing bollworms without the use of insecticides, its decreased use has increased the presence of other crop-harming pests. Also, Bt cotton production has been linked to drastic depletion of soil nutrients and lower crop yields, as well as much higher water requirements.

3. Canola: This is probably one of the most misunderstood, misguided “healthy” food choices out there right now, but there is little about canola – and similar oils – that is good for you. Extracted from rapeseed, canola oil and others must be chemically removed from the seeds, then deodorized and altered, in order to be utilized in foods. They are among the most chemically altered foods in our diets.

4. Aspartame: An artificial sweetener found in a number of products, aspartame – discovered by accident in 1965 by a chemist testing an anti-ulcer drug – accounts for as many as 75 percent of adverse reactions to food additives reported to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), according to some reports. Some seizures and even some deaths have been blamed on aspartame.

5. Dairy: A disturbingly high number – as many as one-fifth – of dairy cows in the U.S. today are given growth hormones to increase milk production, a figure that has been rising since the FDA approved a genetically engineered recombinant bovine growth hormone known as rbGH or rbST for use in dairy cows in 1993. While said to boost production by 5-15 percent, scientists have expressed concern that the increased levels of IGF-1 (insulin growth factors-1) from hormone-treated cows may boost the risks of colon and breast cancer. Since 2008, Hiland Dairy has stopped using milk from dairy farmers who inject their cows with growth hormone.

6. Corn: Modified now to create its own insecticide, as many as half of all U.S. farms growing corn for Monsanto are using genetically modified corn, with tons of it now being introduced for human consumption, according to the FDA. Doctors at Sherbrooke University Hospital in Quebec recently found Bt toxin from modified corn in the blood of pregnant women and their babies, as well as in non-pregnant women.

7. Papayas: Genetically modified papayas have been grown in Hawaii commercially since 1999, designed to combat the Papaya Ringspot Virus. Approved for sale and consumption in the U.S. and Canada, GM papayas cannot be imported or sold in the European Union.

8. Sugar: Sugar from genetically modified sugar beets hit the market in the U.S. in 2009. They were modified by the Monsanto Corporation to be resistant to the company’s Roundup herbicide. In 2010 a group of Oregon farmers sued to stop planting that year of Monsanto’s genetically altered sugar beets over fears the crops could cross-contaminate other nearby fields.

9. Soy: Like other foods, soy, too, has been genetically modified to resist herbicides. Soy is included in soy flour, tofu, soy beverages, soybean oil and scores of other products, especially baked goods and pastries. According to one report, “[a]fter feeding hamsters for two years over three generations, those on the GM diet, and especially the group on the maximum GM soy diet, showed devastating results. By the third generation, most GM soy-fed hamsters lost the ability to have babies. They also suffered slower growth, and a high mortality rate among the pups.”

10. Yellow squash Like zucchini, yellow squash is also a fast-rising GMO crop in the U.S., and as such, should cause you concern. If you like squash – and scores of Americans do – check out a farmer’s market that doesn’t sell GMO squash or grow your own using non-modified seed.”
